The well-known Cuban singer Farah María died this Wednesday in Havana at the age of 76. The causes of her death have not yet been released. Farah María lived in Madrid more than two decades ago with her daughter and regularly traveled to the island. The Cuban cultural authorities showed their condolences. In a statement the Ministry of Culture expressed: «The Cuban Institute of Music regrets the death of Farah María today, December 30. She is known as “The Gazelle of Cuba.” Farah began her career very early and was a symbol of grace, sensuality and Cuban mestizo beauty. She was a remarkable singer who knew how to choose her repertoire and demonstrated her indisputable elegance and mastery on stage. Our deepest condolences go to her family and friends.
