Thanks to his introduction to Rahman in 1992, Srinivas sang for some promotional songs; His first song when he came to Chennai in 1994 was the song “Sorkam Enna Nadu” which was featured in the film ‘Nammavar’ composed by Mahesh.

Rahman sir, do you remember any sweet memories during the recording session?
Even Rahman sir, everything is good memories; Even he is more of a challenging memory than a sweet memory; It is not easy to sing with him; Expect something new from us; If you give him fruit, it will fight him; So even he is more challenging memories.
You have sung many songs for Rahman sir, will this combo work?
All are spontaneous opportunities; Rahman Sir, he is worthy to choose his heart; To believe that, you must always practice and use it when the opportunity comes;
Independent music is getting a lot of attention in this period, what are your thoughts on the trend?
I also did Independent Music in 2001; Even now I am doing something. But independent music still does not grow in the country to the extent of movie songs; Melody songs are coming in big films in this era; Punches etc. come only for promotion; In this kind of situation, there is a chance for music lovers to find their favorite songs in independent music.
Is there any difference between small screen and silver screen in music composition?
When composing a song, only the song is known; Those emotions are important, that’s all there is, let’s compose the song, we will get more reach on silver screen, small screen is not normal, we will get more reach. There isn’t much difference in terms of creativity either, I believe.
Singer Sadhana Sargam and Sujatha have also sung many songs, any memories of that combo?
They are very special singers, great singers. Sujata is now a good friend for me; When I came as a newcomer, he was a big star. They always give an artist the respect they deserve; That’s what makes them special. Such a voice for sadhana sargam, Beautiful Rendition with them. I am very happy that both of them sang duets.
What are your favorite songs from their combo?
Sujata’s song ‘Ini Nanam Nan Alai’ from the musical Ennoda is very special to me. The song ‘Muthal Patal Kilipardhen’, the emotions between them are very good. My favorite song is ‘Azhage Sukama’ sung by Sadhana Sargam. They sang like honey.
If your daughter sings this one song it would have been good, is it a song that you feel?
I also do a lot of stage programs for them; They are singing to me now. This is a very happy thing; As a father, singing with my daughter is the happiest thing for me.
Young singers now have a lot of opportunities. At the same time, there is a criticism that there are less opportunities for seniors, how do you see that?
We have sung a lot, we have to sing a lot of small talk; It’s sad that they didn’t get the chance we got. Because they made good songs during that period; People have been listening till now;
They get a chance but don’t know if they get a good song; Composers are good at composing for a singer, whatever they can do for a singer; Only then will the good songs come. People like kutu songs, they say they do it, it’s very easy, I call it escapism.
There are a lot of differences between the song back then and the song now, so the music seems less important, how do you see it going?
Now when we watch movies on Odit, we don’t see Chanks, we think that Chanks is coming; OTD time has come; Apart from that, five songs like a duet, hero entry song, heroine entry song and a fast song will come in a movie; now the song in the movie is like a speed breaker; “Directors and producers use songs only for promotion,” he said.
