Sinner and doping, for Wada the case is not closed: it has taken time and asked for other documents – Sport

BOLZANO. He won’t play, but Jannik Sinner will still be in Bologna to support the Azzurri in the Davis Cup. The tennis player from Alto Adige, after triumphing on Sunday at the US Open, is returning to Italy and will certainly be in the stands (on Sunday) to support his teammates. While online, on websites and social media, announcements of the end of the doping affair are piling up, regulations in hand, the situation is actually this: Wada, the world anti-doping agency, still has time for a possible appeal to the Tas in Lausanne against the Itia ruling, which acquitted the player for the involuntary intake of Clostebol.

In fact, the anti-doping rules (in particular art. 13.8.1.1) grant Wada an additional 21 days after those – expired yesterday – granted to the other parties for a possible appeal, and therefore the terms, only for Wada, are still open. As for the other party interested in a possible appeal, namely Nado Italia, as anticipated by Ansa, the appeal has not been presented.
