Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed that regional developments should not overshadow efforts to deliver relief aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, who are suffering from inhumane living and health conditions, and the loss of the most basic necessities and basics of life.

During his reception of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his accompanying delegation today, Monday, the Egyptian President stressed the need to push for a radical and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 lines, in a way that achieves justice, security and stability in the region in a sustainable manner.

The official spokesman for the presidency, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the Turkish Foreign Minister conveyed to President Sisi the greetings and appreciation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which President Sisi appreciated, praising the results of President Erdogan’s visit to Egypt last February, which established a positive start in the relationship between the two countries.

In this context, the overall bilateral relations between the two countries were reviewed, where the aspiration to hold the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council between Egypt and Turkey was confirmed, as it represents a shift in the path of bilateral cooperation, based on mutual respect and common interest, and in a way that reflects the historical relations between the two peoples, and enhances coordination and consultation between the two countries with the aim of achieving security and stability in the region.
