Sister of former player Léo Moura is arrested for embezzlement in Rio

by time news

The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police arrested the sister of former football player Léo Moura this Tuesday morning. Lívia da Silva Moura is suspected of participating in a scheme to sell false credentials for boxes at Marquês de Sapucaí and was arrested for embezzlement and criminal association. She was at her house, in the Jacarepaguá neighborhood, in the west zone.

The operation that resulted in her arrest was carried out in partnership with the Public Ministry. According to investigations, Lívia used her brother’s name to give more credibility to the scams. She claimed to be an employee of a ticket distribution company.

So that victims would not suspect fraud, she negotiated fake or non-existent tickets directly with buyers using her cell phone. At the end of the purchase, an email was sent confirming the sale.

According to the Civil Police, Lívia “guaranteed that the names of the buyers would be placed on a guest list”.

In addition to the arrest, the police carried out search and seizure warrants at addresses linked to the former player’s sister. Fake VIP bracelets were found in her house.

According to investigations, she is believed to be the leader of a criminal organization that specializes in scamming people looking for tickets to major events.

A CNN tries to locate Lívia’s defense for positioning, but has not yet received any feedback.
