What will happen to Yechury’s body?

Dr Reema Dada said, ‘First of all, some fluids are injected into the body to preserve it. Senior medical students practice on the body before performing any major surgery. We keep 50 to 60 bodies in our tanks, out of which 10-12 bodies are taken out every year to teach medical students. After being used for research and teaching, the body is cremated at Nigam Bodh Ghat with full rituals.

Doctors learn the tricks of performing surgery

Experts say that donating a body to a hospital means that medical students will be able to use that body for studies. This helps them understand the structure of the human body and become good doctors in future. When someone donates his body, it is taken to the anatomy department of the hospital. Here medical students dissect the body and understand the structure of the internal organs and their working methods. This also helps them learn the tricks of surgery. Work does not start immediately after receiving the body. To prevent the body from rotting, many types of chemicals are applied on it so that it does not smell.

Helps in finding new treatments

After this, medical students study the body and increase their medical knowledge. This is also an important part of their research. When the body is completely used for study, its bones are separated and the rest of the body is cremated. Donating the body is a very noble deed. This not only helps in improving future doctors but also helps in finding new treatments and medicines.
