A policeman was killed on the spot when a government bus collided with a two-wheeler after completing his work in the Disaster Management Committee.
Suresh hails from Ilamanoor in Sivagangai district. He is working as a secondary guard in the road village police station. He is married and has 2 sons, aged one and four. As Suresh was on his way to Thiruvenkadam near Ilayankudi after completing his work in the Disaster Management Committee due to the ongoing northeast monsoon rains in Sivagangai, policeman Suresh was thrown off his bike when he was hit by a government bus coming from the opposite Paramakudi towards Trichy and died on the spot.
Ilayangudi police have seized his body and sent it to Sivagangai Government Hospital for autopsy. Police are investigating.
