Six companies bid for the work of the second phase of the Guadalajara-Marchamalo Terminal

The tender for the works of the second phase of the Intermodal Terminal Port of Tarragona Guadalajara-Marchamalo, which was published on March 16, 2023, six companies have submitted. The works include the installation of nineteen diversions, the construction of three loading and unloading tracks for trains up to 750 meters in length and another three for dispatch and reception.

This tender refers to the last phase of works for a terminal that will have 150,000 square meters and is estimated to be operational in 2024. The main actions of this second stage are the connections, at two points, to the Adif rail network, the execution of the track superstructure, the installation of security and communication elements, the paving of the platform, structures, and the corresponding electrification and catenary. The contract has an initial budget of 26,704,546 euros and an execution period of one year.

Second level

The works to be undertaken by the successful bidder include: the installation of nineteen diversions for movements and manoeuvres, the construction of three loading and unloading tracks for trains up to 750 meters in length and another three for dispatch and reception. In addition, 100,000 square meters will be paved in the area of ​​merchandise operations and storage, and the construction of a 100-square-meter service building. In total, 7,750 meters of Iberian gauge track will be built.

With this contract, the Port of Tarragona will begin the final part of a new infrastructure that will become the main dry port in the center of the peninsula, with the capacity to channel the main national and international flows of merchandise, since it is located in the area of ​​influence from Madrid and in the Henares corridor.
