Six shops in the Girona counties have received the 2022 Centennial Commercial Establishments National Award. Specifically, the century of history of: the clothing store has been recognized Casals Promise (Figueres), the Josep Segura Bread Oven (Sant Miquel de Sescebes), la Maideu printing house (Rippoll), theEstanc Pilar (Campdevànol), and the restaurants The Hunters (Ribes de Freser) i Cal Bandarra – Gastronomic freedomin (Begur). In the other hand, Butinyà furniture (Sils) has received the distinction corresponding to 150 years or more of experience.
The National Awards for Centenary Commercial Establishments are an initiative promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Craft and Fashion Trade Consortium of the Department of Business and Work. The purpose of these awards is to distinguish commercial establishments and municipal markets that have been active for a hundred years or more they have offered “a quality and personalized service to their clientele, while adapting to the changes in the purchasing needs of the public that have been occurring throughout their professional career”, they state from the Government.
A total of 28 distinctions have been awarded this year: 21 to shops and municipal markets for their 100 years or more of history, and 7 to commercial establishments and markets with 150 years of history or more.
