In a tragic incident, six soldiers lost their lives and three more were injured during a military operation against the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo in the Coposa area of the municipality of Valdivia, Antioquia.
The Command of the Eleventh Brigade of the National Army, an organic unit of the Seventh Division and under the command of Joint Command No. 5, reported on the attack in a statement to the public.
According to the statement, The military unit was ambushed by structures of the Central General Staffwho activated an area prepared with improvised explosive devices. This cowardly act resulted in the death of Second Sergeant Diego Armando Marín López and Professional Soldiers Yeison Gómez Chima, Jesús Manuel Casso Campo, Rodolfo José González Núñez, Andrés Stiven Ramírez Castaño and Cristian Julián Torres Delgadillo. In addition, three more soldiers were injured and were immediately evacuated with air support from the Colombian Air Force and the Air Assault Aviation Division.

The Command of the Eleventh Brigade strongly condemned these terrorist acts, noting that not only They not only attack the public forces, but also put the local civilian population at risk. This attack constitutes a flagrant violation of the agreements and protocols of the Ceasefire agreed between the National Government and the Central General Staff (EMC).
Likewise, criminal charges will be filed for violations of Human Rights and breaches of International Humanitarian Law. arising from the use of improvised explosive devices.
