Six soldiers remain in jail for the rape of a 13-year-old girl

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported this morning that the five soldiers and the sergeant of the Armed Forces involved in the rape of a girl faced the initial hearing in the Teotepeque Peace Court.

Those involved in the case are Sergeant Héctor Ovidio Alvarado Rivera, as the direct author of the events, and the soldiers René Alfredo Escobar Sánchez, Hilario Antonio Flores Cabezas, Vicente Elías Gómez González, Edgardo Antonio Pintín Martínez and Eder Ovidio Salazar Molina, as necessary accomplices.

The events for which they are accused occurred on September 23 on Mizata beach in La Libertad. Her youngest was returning from the beach with her family when she was intercepted by the military, the sergeant took her away from her and abused her while the other soldiers beat her companions, the prosecutor in the case detailed.

The crimes attributed to them are Aggravated Deprivation of Liberty, Aggravated Rape of a Minor and Incapacitated Person, and Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Minor and Incapacitated Person.
