Flexible incident took place during re-polling at Bhubaneswar polling booth. A woman who kept her body at home after her husband’s death came to the polls and cast her vote.

Cuddalore: The re-poll will be held in the 4th ward of Bhubaneswar district from 7 am today. Re-polling is underway due to malfunction of the voting machine already registered at this polling station.

In this situation, during the polling today, Vanitha, the wife of Shankar from Mullipallam area under the 4th ward, came to vote in an auto with some women. He then pressed for a vote and left. Inquiries into the matter revealed that her husband Shankar had died this morning due to ill health and that Vanitha had come to the polls with her body left at home and voted in favor of democratic duty.

He then told Auto to return home as soon as the voting was over and he waited. But by then her family members had taken the woman home on a two-wheeler. The people of the area were flexible as they left the body of her dead husband at home and came to the polls to do their democratic duty.
