Sixth in a row: Alba Berlin lost to Olympiakos

In the shadow of the World Cup, the Euroleague season continued today (Thursday). Apart from Maccabi Tel Aviv’s loss to Red Star in Belgrade, Olympiakos impressed when they beat Elba Berlin 76:86.

Elba started well and led at the end of the first quarter, but the Greeks’ 0:10 run gave them control of the game until the end. The team forced 17 turnovers on Alba.

Sasha Wezenkov led the Greeks with 24 points while Kostas Papanikolaou contributed 19 with 9 rebounds, and the team recovered from the loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Jaylin Smith and Maudo Lo scored 12 each.

Tamir Blatt (2 of 7 from three) scored 10 points with 3 assists, while Yuval Sussman contributed 6 points. Now Alba has a 6:3 negative record, while Olympiakos has a 6:3 record. This is the sixth loss in a row for the Berliners.
