Skeptical about Aachener: Galeria employees continue to protest | Regional

Nuremberg – The Galeria employees in Langwasser don’t trust the peace!

The fashion chain “Aachener” has already announced that the former Karstadt branch in Nuremberg’s Frankencenter will be taken over. “The leases have already been signed,” said Aachen Managing Director Friedrich Göbel. Employees who want this could be taken on.

Saleswoman Irina Sapolskich (42) hopes that the location will not be closed after all. “But I would also accept any changes in order to keep my job.”

The employees don’t want to know anything about that at the moment. They keep fighting to keep their place. And the city of Nuremberg stands by the employees.

Bernhard Klink (62) has been working in the sports department at Galeria in Langwasser since 2013.

Economics officer Michael Fraas: “We went through that three years ago and we said we were fighting. And we made it. So we’re going to do it again this year. The end has not yet been reached.”

Beate Kreuzinger (60) has worked at the Langwasser site since 1982.

Fraas is skeptical about the takeover by the Aachener fashion chain. “I understand that everything is still uncertain and the last word has not yet been spoken. I will therefore continue to fight to keep jobs, for fair, collectively agreed wages and vibrant locations.”

The employees see it that way. “No one has spoken to us yet. There is zero transparency,” says saleswoman Irina Sapolskich (40). “We have learned everything from the press so far.”
