Toms Skujins earned 147 UCI World Ranking points last week. The lion’s share of them – 135 – were scored in Belgium’s most prestigious one-day race, the Tour of Flanders. Toms won the tenth place here, which is so far the highest success of a Latvian in one of the five cycling monuments.

Tom’s achievements have not gone unnoticed in the current World Ranking. Carnikavietis made the fourth biggest climb among TOP50 drivers. He has risen from 36th place to a new career record – 30th position. Tom already has 1850 points on an annual basis. Before the upcoming Ardennes Classics, Skujiņš, continuing the rhythm he has taken, can climb even higher, because the gap between the TOP20 is no longer that big.

Krist Neiland also got points in both competitions of the past week, who climbed ten places in the ranking and now occupies the 263rd position (348 points). Meanwhile, Emīls Liepiņš is in 298th position (312 points).

Ranga is led by Tadejs Pogačar. The Slovenian has 6658 points. He is followed by the Danish Jonas Wingegaard with 6350 points, while the Belgian champion Remko Evenepool (5677) completes the TOP3.

In the ranking of nations, 124 countries got points. Latvia confidently maintains the honor of the leading nation in the Baltics. Our men have accumulated a total of 2894 points, which allows us to be quite safely in 23rd place. This year, the ranking of the nations is important for the World Championship quotas. The current position would give Latvians four quotas. Neighbors Estonians are in 43rd place, and Lithuanians are in 56th position. The leaders with 22924 points are Belgium. Denmark (18,588) and Slovenia (14,828) follow.
