jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) stated that the level of public trust in the Attorney General’s Office has increased quite significantly to 74 percent.

LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan said that the Prosecutor’s courage in uncovering large and high profile cases had received appreciation and support from the public.

This was expressed by Djayadi when presenting the results of a survey entitled Public Attitudes towards KPU Decisions, Constitutional Court Trials and National Issues which was monitored online from Jakarta, Thursday

In LSI’s findings, public trust in the Prosecutor’s Office in February 2024 was only at 67 percent. Now, in the latest findings, the figure is 74 percent.

According to him, the Attorney General’s courage in investigating cases, such as mining corruption at PT Timah, with losses reaching IDR 271 trillion.

“The courage of the Prosecutor’s Office in investigating high profile cases, resulting in huge, supersized losses, has certainly given rise to public support and trust,” he said.

He said that apart from the value of state losses which reached IDR 271 trillion, the dragging of the names of a number of celebrities also made the public increasingly look at the performance of the Prosecutor’s Office.

“In big, high profile and supersize cases, the public sees the Prosecutor’s Office as serious and brave. “The Attorney General is also considered by the public to be brave in investigating big cases,” concluded Djayadi.
