In the severely hit flood areas of Slovenia and southern Austria, the situation eased at the beginning of the week. Nevertheless, the risks were still considered to be high due to the sometimes high water levels in the rivers, softened dams, mudslides and sliding slopes. On Monday, the highest alert level was only along the Mur in eastern Slovenia.

After the rains at the weekend, two-thirds of the country was under water – like the Sava and Drava valleys on Monday. Two more people died in Slovenia, bringing the number of people killed by the storm there to six. A drowned person was reported from Austria on Monday.
