SAN LORENZO IN BANALE. A 37-year-old mountaineer from Trentino was airlifted to the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento for possible multiple injuries suffered after being fell about ten meters just below the summit of Ambiezon the Brenta Dolomites, at an altitude of about 3000 meters. The man, together with two other companions, was descending from the summit towards Bocca d’Ambiez, when he slipped on the rocks.

The man hit his head in the fall, but remained conscious. The call to the Emergency Number 112 came around 10:20.

The Central Emergency Unit requested the intervention of the helicopter and the operators of the San Lorenzo in Banale Alpine and Speleological Rescue Station who went to the site to provide any support. The Trentino Emergenza helicopter flew to altitude and lowered the Alpine Rescue helicopter rescue technician and the doctor to the site with the winch. The injured person was stabilized and put on a stretcher, then recovered on board the helicopter with the winch and transferred to the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento. The hiking companions were also recovered and taken down to the valley.
