Paddarpalayam: Yesterday some people completely cut down 4 trees including 20 years old neem tree, 10 years old mountain neem and 20 years old Vada Narayana tree which were on the second and adjacent streets of Thirupur Municipal Corporation, 13th Ward Saminathapuram. The cut trees were taken away in a van. In this regard, the common people of the area have complained to the village administrative officer and the municipal officer. The officials did not notice. The public said, “The government is taking action by announcing various schemes to plant trees and make the district green. Due to the fact that the officials do not notice, the incident of tree cutting is a continuous story. The government’s objective will be fulfilled only if the district administration takes strict action against those who cut trees,” he said.
