After Italy and Croatia, Slovakia is the most common choice for Czechs to spend their summer vacation this year. Not surprisingly, the eastern neighbors have a lot to offer. From the majestic peaks of the Tatras through the romantic gorges of the Slovak Paradise to the quiet forests of the Poloninsk National Park. There are nine national parks on the territory of this Central European country, so tourists have plenty to choose from.

Visitors to Slovak national parks can relax in unspoiled nature, discover exceptional natural phenomena and try unforgettable activities.

One of the most attractive places in Slovakia, where visitors can enjoy hiking to the fullest, is undoubtedly the Tatra National Park, which is the oldest national park in Slovakia and offers more than 600 kilometers of marked hiking trails.

These also lead to nine mountain peaks of the High Tatras. The other twelve peaks can only be climbed by people accompanied by a mountain guide. For more physically fit individuals, there is also an ascent to Gerlachovský štít, which, among other things, is further discussed in the gallery.
