Slow Food: in the Pinerolo area to discover typical wines and dishes

Slow Food del Pinerolo inaugurates a series of events to discover local foods and wines on the occasion of Artigianato Pinerolo on 6-7 September 2024.

Slow food of Pinerolo in the name of good, clean and fair in September proposes a calendar full of events starting from 6-7 September on the occasion of the next edition of Artigianato Pinerolo.

The right combination

At the Museo del Mutuo Soccorso in Pinerolo, in via Silvio Pellico 19 there will be two workshops on the pairing of food and wine from our area.

  • Friday 6th September at 8.30pm the passito wines of Pinerolo paired with local sweets and cheeses
  • while on Saturday 7 September at 5:30 pm the bubbles of Pinerolo paired with local cured meats.

Cost of each workshop: 30 euros (25 for Slow Food members and AIS members).

In the courtyard you can buy wines directly from the producers.

Carmagnola Ox Horn and Golden Humpbacked Tinga

On September 15th the event entitled Discovering Slow Food Presidia which will reveal

  • the presidium of the Carmagnola Ox Horn pepper
  • and the garrison of the golden hunchbacked tinga

Meeting at 6:30 pm at Cascina Italia in via Pautasso, 75 in Ceresole d’Alba where a merenda sinoira will be organized with the following menu:

Tench in light carpione – Fried tench fillet – Piedmontese-style stuffed pepper – Focaccia with peppers, anchovies and seirass – Summer pepper dip with Santa Caterina oil from the Pinerolo hills – Black rice timbale, pepper cream, smoked tench – Carmagnola grey rabbit and pepper salad – Roast tench glazed with pepper – Bunet with sweet pepper and vanilla – Peaches in brachetto sauce. Cost €35.

Cooking with local chefs

From September 16th to October 21st a six-lesson cooking course entitled Let’s learn to cook with local chefsfrom 7pm to 10pm for six Mondays, at CFIQ in Frossasco (Via Principe Amedeo, 42) In collaboration with practical lessons in cutting-edge kitchens Cost: 280 euros. All you have to do is book.
