This peeler is made of gold! The supposed paradox is the truth, even if nobody wants to believe it. With the “Rex in Gold” for 69 euros, Victorinox is probably looking at everyone who is looking for a Christmas present for those who already have everything. We tried the peeler on cucumbers, peppers and carrots. We don’t know whether the “straight” blade is really “extra sharp”. It strips the fruit and vegetables just as flawlessly as a peeler for five euros. But to be honest: If you open the drawer and take out such a golden object between all the dreary kitchen tools, the vegetables peel themselves almost by themselves. And if a financial emergency arises, you could scrape off the “24 carat gold” and sell it. Then at the end of the day there is a real vegetable peeler in the drawer.
