Since 2020, the Ministry of Environment and Territorial Planning (SMAOT), through the Coordination of Environmental Education, has had the online course Training for Teachers in Environmental Education that has allowed them to develop capacities and skills in environmental education.

Through knowledge and interaction with teachers from other municipalities, it has allowed them to identify teaching-learning methods to implement environmental education transversally in their educational centers.

Throughout the course, teachers plan, develop and carry out environmental education projects with students, parents and teachers of their educational institution.

Currently, more than 2,500 teachers from across the state are part of this environmental education network.

The recognized educators belong to the municipalities: San Felipe, San Luis de la Paz, León, Salamanca, Purísima, Irapuato Villagrán Cortazar, Comonfort Pueblo Nuevo Abasolo, Pénjamo Huanímaro and Moroleón.

State Government, reaffirms its commitment to continue with transversal actions to strengthen programs that strengthen the care of the environment with the participation of society, towards a more sustainable Guanajuato.
