In Italy, they heeded the call of UNESCO and decided to introduce a complete ban on the use of gadgets by children, Day.Az reports.

“Italian Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara said that in accordance with the new rules, the use of smartphones and tablets in kindergartens and schools in the country will be completely prohibited. The decision taken by the authorities will tighten the restrictions already existing in the country, which were not always respected. Valditara explained that gadgets have a negative impact on concentration, academic performance and the educational process in general, and also often create conflict situations between children and teachers. “Protecting teaching staff means protecting the principle of delegation and authority, which is the basis not only of the school system, but also of the democratic system,” the minister emphasized. Tougher measures on the use of gadgets follows UNESCO’s call to ban the use of smartphones in schools around the world on the grounds that they distract students and negatively impact learning outcomes.”
