What changes according to the new contract agreement

The confederal trade union has jointly signed a protocol that dictates the guidelines on smart working in the private sector. This intends to promote corporate and category agreements on agile work with a view to equal opportunities and environmental and social sustainability. Membership should take place on a voluntary basis and be subject to the signing of an individual agreement, not required in a state of emergency. The duration, the alternation between the periods in presence and at a distance, the working tools and the equal rights and treatment for the agile worker must be indicated. The overall reference time remains the one established by the contracts, but overtime is not foreseen. The worker in smart working must also be guaranteed disconnection times. The law leaves the possibility in the individual agreement to establish that work from home is done with the worker’s PC and equipment. The workplace can be freely chosen as long as it guarantees the regular execution of the service, in conditions of security and confidentiality. The agreement does not affect the guarantee of meal vouchers or the division between company and worker of the costs associated with setting up the workstation.
