jpnn.comJAKARTA – A number of witnesses were again presented at the trial of the alleged PT Timah corruption case with the defendant Harvey Moeis, Monday (30/9).

Among them are the Beneficial owner of CV Venus Inti Perkasa and PT Menara Cipta Mulia, Tamron alias Aon.

Also present were Peter Cianata (Staff of PT Fortuna Tunas Mulia), Suwito Gunawan (commissioner of PT SIP or mining company in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung), Robert Indarto (main director of PT SBS), Rosalina (general manager of PT TIN), Achmad Albani (operational manager Tambang CV VIP), Hassan Tjie (main director of CV VIP), and Kwang Yung alias Buyung (commissioner of CV VIP).

During the trial, the witnesses explained the business process in collaboration between PT Timah and a number of private smelters by smelting tin sand purchased or obtained from community mining carried out in the mining business permit (WIUP) area owned by PT Timah.

Beneficial owner of CV Venus Inti Perkasa and PT Menara Cipta Mulia, Tamron alias Aon, explained that his willingness to collaborate with PT Timah was an effort to help the government, which at that time was trying to increase the level of national tin productivity.

He also explained that his party was willing to buy tin sand from people’s mines because of his calling to help people’s miners who made tin mining their livelihood.

“People’s mining is the livelihood of the people of Bangka Belitung, so with the disclosure of this case, the economy of Bangka Belitung has suffered greatly, making its economic figures lower than all provinces in Indonesia,” said Aon, quoted by JPNN.com, Tuesday (30/1).

He also denied that there was any conspiracy behind the cooperation agreement regarding the smelter.
