Islamabad: Pakistan has received 166.8 mm of rain till now due to unprecedented heavy rain since last June. Due to this, floods are occurring in various parts of the country. While the usual rainfall is 48.8 mm, this year there has been an additional 241 percent rainfall. Sindh and Balochistan provinces are worst hit by floods. 23 districts in Sindh have been declared as affected areas.

306 in Sindh, 234 in Balochistan, 185 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 165 in Punjab, 937 people including 343 children have died due to floods so far. Thus, a national emergency has been declared for rescue operations. 3 crore people have been shifted to camps without shelter due to flooding in low-lying areas.
