The Franciscan friars of Padua (Italy) announced the program of the celebrations for the feast of San Antonio this Tuesday, June 13, and offered the possibility of joining them from home.

The program begins at 5:30 am (local time, GMT+2) with the opening of the Basilica and the greeting of the rector, Fray Antonio Ramina.

At 6:00 am the first Mass will be celebrated and, at 8:00 am, there will be a live dialogue with Fr. Fabio Turrisendo, one of the friars of the Basilica.

At 10:00 am the second Mass will be officiated, and at 1:00 pm the prayer at the saint’s tomb will be broadcast with Fr. Giancarlo Zamengo. At 1:10 p.m. the traditional San Antonio bread will be blessed.

At 5:00 pm the third Mass will be celebrated; and at 6:00 pm there will be a solemn procession with the image and sacred relics of San Antonio de Padua.

5:00 pm Italy corresponds to 9:00 am in Central Mexico; and at 10:00 am from Bogotá, Lima and Quito; as well as at 12:00 m. of Miami.

At 8:10 pm (local time) there will be a second prayer at the saint’s tomb with Fr. Zamengo; and at 10:30 pm the Basilica will be closed, after the farewell of fray Antonio Ramina.

The friars specify that those who join the transmission will be able to participate with three specific actions: write a prayer that will be printed and placed on the tomb of San Antonio; light a virtual candle; and send some donation for their charities.
