According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, domestic catering chains can replace the 250 McDonald’s restaurants that operated in the capital over a period of six months to a year. He said that for these purposes the city authorities will allocate 500 million rubles. for concessional lending.
“We have talked with a number of enterprises that operate in this industry, and we see that within six months, a maximum of a year, this entire network can be easily replaced by our domestic enterprises. Moreover, the food products themselves are supplied by 99% by Russian suppliers,” Mr. Sobyanin said during a meeting with the heads of trade and service enterprises in the capital (quoted by TASS).
The mayor suggested that new enterprises make the most of the personnel potential that worked at McDonald`s. He also added that work in this direction is being carried out together with the government.
