Social activist Bethum Kerner, who is said to have led the protest at Poltua Junction in Bhattaramulla, has been arrested by the Colombo Crime Squad.
Although he was called to the Colombo Crime Prevention Unit on the 18th, the police said that a letter was submitted through the lawyer stating that he is healthy.
On 13th July he stayed near Bhattaramulla Poltua Junction and announced in various ways to the people to come to that place.
It is also reported that he worked with the people there to break the roadblocks used for the security of the Parliament.
