An automatic bonus on electricity and gas bills will ease the increases coming from October 1st. Currently expected for over two million Italian families, it could soon be expanded to another million. The automatic allocation of social bonuses started in 2021 for more fragile categories. In 2020, only 700 thousand eligible families benefited from the bonus because they applied, equal to just 35%. Now the eligible units will be identified automatically thanks to the exchange of data from the INPS to the integrated information system. These are households with an annual Isee below 8,265 euros and large families (Isee within 20,000 euros and at least 4 children). But also of the recipients of income (or pension) of citizenship and of those who are in serious health conditions.
