(Neunkirchen/Ginsheim/Kist) In May, Dennis Spamer, Managing Director of Movianto Germany, was able to hand over two checks, each for 4,565 euros, to children’s aid projects in Wiesbaden and Homburg/Saar. They are the proceeds from a charity week in which all employees of the service provider specializing in pharmaceutical logistics were asked to get involved in social projects they had chosen themselves and to collect donations for them. The collected sum was doubled by Movianto. In the case of salary donations, where employees only had to say how much money they would like to donate from their gross salary that month, the company even quintupled the donation.

In addition to these donations, the employees of the three German Movianto locations in Neunkirchen, Ginsheim-Gustavsburg and Kist baked and sold cakes, organized company runs and chose the organizations that received the donations themselves. “This year, our employees decided in favor of the Bärenherz children’s hospice in Wiesbaden and the Ronald McDonald House in Homburg,” explains Spamer. “We are an international company, but with strong regional roots. That’s why we want to use these donations to express our solidarity with local children’s aid organizations, which provide a very important service for people who urgently need special help, even in wealthy Germany.”

The children’s hospice Bärenherz supports children who are terminally ill together with their families. The facility is only partially financed by nursing and health insurance companies. The children’s hospice can only provide help for seriously ill children and their families thanks to private donations. Every year around 230 families find a temporary home in the Ronald McDonald House in Homburg. Since 2005, the house has been a place of retreat and relaxation from everyday hospital life for families whose children are being treated in the Saarland University Clinic for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
