The meeting was an opportunity to emphasize the importance of the involvement of the CGEM to ensure the success of social dialogue and to allow the promulgation of the labor code and the law on strikes, within the framework of the government’s commitment to joint and responsible action with all of its social and economic partners, in order to meet the demands and aspirations of the working class in Morocco.

“The Head of Government noted that these meetings are taking place in an atmosphere of respect and mutual trust, reiterating the government’s commitment to ensure the smooth running of the sectoral dialogue sessions and to provide them with guarantees and conditions for success. He hailed the honorable record of social dialogue, after the current government respected a large number of its commitments, despite the difficult economic situation”, indicates a press release from the Primature.

This meeting took place in the presence of Ms. Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Labor and Skills, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, as well as the Secretary General of the Ministry Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

The April round of social dialogue was launched last week with meetings with delegations from the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT) and the General Union of Workers in Morocco (UGTM), and will continue with a meeting with a delegation from the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT).
