The government has decided to open Facebook-YouTube-TikTok by this afternoon. State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak gave this information today (July 31) after a meeting at Agargaon BTRC building.
Palak said, Facebook-YouTube-TikTok can be run using the Internet in Bangladesh within a short period of time. Instructions have already been given. BTRC started functioning.
Earlier, this meeting was held online with the Asia headquarters of Mater (Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram) on Wednesday morning in Singapore. In the meeting, various contemporary issues were discussed including setting up of offices in Bangladesh, taking initiatives to strengthen fact checking to resolve any instability due to mis-information, dis-information.

Palak said, Tik Tok has replied to our mail. helped TikTok was asked to remove some content for spreading misinformation, which they did. TikTok has taken down more than 700,000 content containing false information about violence.
Regarding Facebook, Palak said, Facebook could not respond quickly due to various limitations. However, Facebook said their factchecking may have errors and they will soon update their AI.
Palak said that the firm which helps Bangladesh by fact-checking is anti-liberation war. They are not neutral.
Palak said that Pinaki Bhattacharya recently posted a post on July 17 regarding the violence and called the spectrum frequency monitoring vehicle of BTRC a jammer. Which is propaganda. Facebook has been informed about this.
Palak also said that Facebook will be more responsible in the coming days.
