According to the report, the chloride and sodium values remained within the permitted limits established by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP). In addition, an improvement was observed in the sodium and chloride levels compared to previous days. The results provided by the report are detailed below.

In the three running water pumping lines analyzed, the chloride values were within the permitted limits. In the central area of Montevideo, chlorides were found at a level of 85 mg/l, while in the east of Montevideo and the coast of Canelones they were 77 mg/l. On the other hand, in the west of Montevideo a level of 77 mg/l of chlorides was also registered. These values are within the historical reference values for tap water.

Similarly, sodium values remained within the allowable range. In the central area of Montevideo, a level of 84 mg/l of sodium was registered, while in the east of Montevideo and the coast of Canelones it was 80 mg/l. In the west of Montevideo, a level of 80 mg/l of sodium was also obtained. These values are within the limits established by the health authorities.

Improvement in sodium and chloride levels

Compared to the previous day, a further improvement was observed in the sodium and chloride levels. These values were the lowest since the Presidency began to report daily the amount of sodium and chlorides present in the water. Only in the central axis of the capital were the levels of both components maintained in relation to Saturday.

Of course, it should be noted that the health portfolio exceptionally set the values of sodium at 420 milligrams per liter and those of chlorides at 720 milligrams per liter. As for sodium, it is far from the 200 milligrams per liter recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). These limits were extended for an additional period to guarantee the quality of the water supplied to the population.

Water consumption in Montevideo and the metropolitan area
On the last day, water consumption in Montevideo and the metropolitan area was 499,196 cubic meters, which represents a decrease compared to the previous day, where a consumption of 513,930 cubic meters was recorded. These data reflect a variation in consumption patterns and could be related to different factors, such as changes in demand or awareness measures.

Water reserves in Paso Severino grew again

Regarding the water reserves in Paso Severino, growth is observed for the tenth consecutive day. Currently, the reserves are at 6,510,340 cubic meters, out of a total of 70 million cubic meters of water that the reservoir can store.

These figures represent 9.3% of its storage capacity. Compared to the previous day, where reserves were at 5,093,007 cubic meters, a significant increase can be seen.
