The Israeli tournament is postponed for security reasons. After initially refusing, the Bulgarian federation accepts the change.
The city of Sofia, after initially refusing, will host from November 4 to 11 the ATP tournament initially planned in Tel Aviv, but ultimately moved because of the war between Israel and Hamas, announced the Bulgarian Tennis Federation (BFT) Tuesday. “The Sofia Open will be organized from November 4 to 11… The Bulgarian Tennis Federation obtained the right to organize this tournament, which should have taken place in Tel Aviv, but was ultimately canceled due to hostilities in Israel», writes the BFT in its press release.
The BFT announced last week that it could not ensure the holding of the tournament, the Arena Sofia, the hall where it was to take place being reserved for a possible second round of the municipal elections. But the BFT announced on Tuesday that it had finally found a solution by relocating a certain number of matches.
