A few apps like Instagram and Uber would have made the phones warmer than usual. The group is now reassuring that the software errors will be fixed soon.

Cupertino.

According to Apple, reports of overheating devices on the new iPhone 15 Pro are due to software errors that should be fixed soon.

On the one hand, a problem in the new iOS 17 operating system was the trigger for some users, and on the other hand, a few apps such as Instagram and Uber caused the phones to become warmer than usual. Instagram fixed the problem with an update at the end of September, Apple told the financial service Bloomberg.

The reports of iPhones heating up had sparked speculation that the new titanium housing or the newly developed chip could have contributed to this. Apple, however, emphasized that the titanium frame ensures better heat dissipation – and that the processor should not be slowed down during software corrections.

At the same time, the company pointed out that newly set up iPhones may initially generally feel warmer because the electronics are working harder in the background. (dpa)
