Over the past ten years, the Fellensiek company has implemented photovoltaic projects primarily in Germany. But now the company is in trouble.
The solar company Fellensiek from Jever has filed for bankruptcy due to liquidity problems. The Wilhelmshaven District Court ordered provisional insolvency administration on September 3, 2024 and appointed Christian Kaufmann from the Pluta law firm as provisional insolvency administrator, according to a statement from the law firm. He is now examining how the solar project developer can be rehabilitated.
The salaries of the company’s 20 employees are secured for three months through insolvency benefits from the Federal Employment Agency. The reason for the insolvency is an investor’s claims amounting to millions. Fellensiek Projektmanagement GmbH & Co. KG is a holding company – the group includes around 20 individual project companies, which, according to the statement, are not in insolvency proceedings.
According to the statement, insolvency administrator Kaufmann said that business operations would continue. “We will now obtain a comprehensive overview of the financial situation and hold discussions with all business partners.” In the coming weeks, the company will analyze what solutions are possible for the solar company. “We will also hold negotiations with interested parties who would like to take over the PV projects.”
Managing Director Torsten Fellensiek described the situation as “difficult”. Nevertheless, he hopes “that we can find solutions together. We will support the provisional insolvency administrator as best we can.”
Fellensiek Projektmanagement GmbH & Co. KG (FPM) was founded in 2012 in Jever, Lower Saxony. At that time, the company started with the development of projects in the field of wind energy. Today, FPM says it concentrates on the development and implementation of photovoltaic systems in Germany and Spain.
