The clouds have prevented hundreds of people from seeing the solar eclipse from A Coruña, the ideal province to do so from the Iberian Peninsula, according to experts, if weather conditions permitted. O Portiño was one of the places chosen by the people of A Coruña, for its views of the horizon and its impressive sunsets. More than a hundred people went there to try to capture the partiality of the solar eclipse that was total in Mexico, the central United States and eastern Canada. A Coruña will have a new, and more special, opportunity in two years, as a total solar eclipse is scheduled for August 12, 2026.
