Solar systems with an investment of about NIS 4 million

As part of the cooperation between the Tadmir Shion Energy group and Kibbutz Nir Am, solar systems were erected over the past year and a half on 10 buildings throughout the kibbutz with a total area of approximately 10,000 square meters.

The distinct benefits for the kibbutz and the environment as a result of the project: First and foremost – green electricity generation from the installed systems which will generate regular long-term income. In addition to setting up the new systems, the partnership purchased old solar systems from the kibbutz, upgraded them, and today these systems produce a higher output.

Throughout the project, the goal of the kibbutz was to preserve as many trees as possible and not to cut down the trees that caused shading on the systems, all this in order to maintain the kibbutz image. At the same time, in order not to damage the performance of the solar system – a dedicated technology was already adapted in the planning stage to maximize the outputs in all systems. With the expected change in the energy fields, the partnership is currently examining the integration of additional energy fields such as storage, electric vehicle charging and the kibbutz’s self-consumption.

Uri Ganni, chairman and co-founder of the Tadmir Shion Energy Group: “Also in Nir Am, similar to collaborations in other kibbutzim, we will step forward together and position ourselves at the forefront of the renewable energy sector in Israel. With systems, tariffs throughout the kibbutz. The process will allow the partnership and the kibbutz to generate long-term sources of income, save money, upgrade infrastructure and improve the quality of life of the residents. We are proud to take part in this partnership and strongly believe in it. This is a partnership in which both parties benefit, in the future we will present additional and interesting collaborations.’

The CEO of the company Tal Bakal: “As part of the cooperation, in the future the kibbutz will benefit from comprehensive energy management for the purpose of saving and obtaining profits. And this is through a storage system, by storing ‘cheap’ electricity into the system and discharging it for use during hours when the rate is expensive. In the future, it will be possible to use this system for load management so that the limitations of the electricity infrastructure in the kibbutz will not pose a difficulty in the establishment of charging stations for electric vehicles that are planned to be built.’

The Tadmir Shion Energy Group, a leading entrepreneur in the field of renewable energies and a subsidiary of the Tadmir Management and Operation Group (2006) Ltd., headed by Ron Artzi, engages in entrepreneurship in the field of renewable energies: installing solar systems on roofs, greenhouses, fences, public buildings, roofing lots and parking lots as well as storage facilities and charging stations for electric vehicles throughout the country, in the clustered and residential industrial sectors.
