The companies Solgrin and Tadiran have signed an agreement under which Solgarin will purchase energy storage systems from Aviam, a subsidiary of Tadiran

The value of the agreement is $ 130 million, with the total power systems reaching 600 megawatts per hour to be provided over the next two years, so that the payment for them will also be spread over this period.

The energy storage systems were characterized by Aviam according to the needs of Solgreen and include an integrative solution based on storage systems made by SMA – a German company that is considered one of the world’s leading manufacturers in the field of energy storage solutions.

Aviam’s energy storage systems will be used by Solgreen for various solar projects, for example:

  • The projects that Solgarin will establish by virtue of winning the tender of the Electricity Authority for the production of electricity with photovoltaic technology, projects that combine storage capacity and therefore require storage systems
  • Projects initiated by the company for energy storage of private customers

In addition, the agreement will include warranty services, preventive maintenance and augmentation on behalf of Aviam for five years from the date of installation and delivery of the storms of the systems. Also, under the agreement, Solgrin was given two options:

  • Continue the service agreement with Aviam for a period of up to 18 years
  • Increase the capacity of the systems’ batteries.

According to the agreement, Aviam will be responsible for the efficiency, availability and capacity of the energy storage and for the repair of faults in accordance with accepted service and availability indices (SLA).

Aviam became a subsidiary of the Tadiran Group in October 2021, when it was acquired by the group for NIS 30 million after about 50 years of independent activity. Aviam specializes in various types of electrical energy systems, such as uninterruptible power supplies, batteries, power supplies, batteries, frequency converters, batteries, and systems for charging electric vehicles in residential buildings.

Aviam CEO Ran Abodi said upon completion of the deal that it is the largest deal in Israel in the energy storage market, so the company he heads is a significant and leading player in this field thanks to engineering capability, execution at a particularly high technological level and over 50 years of experience.
