Non-perishable food donated by workers was delivered to a school that houses victims
The solidarity aid of the workers of the Ministry of Education (Minedu) reached the educational institution No. 20955 Veritatis Splendor, in annex 22 of Jicamarca, Huarochirí province, to support dozens of families affected by the intense rains that hit our country .
Located on the heights of that town, the educational center of the Misioneras de la Cruz congregation, which has 600 students, became a temporary shelter for 45 families who found a cozy place to shelter from the cold and rain, as well as a mattress, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Sister María Dilcia Saavedra, director of the school and one of the Bicentennial teachers, thanked the non-perishable food, such as rice, sugar, milk, preserves, noodles, beans, cookies and water, which a truck transported as part of the crusade ” Together and together we are stronger” promoted by the workers of the Minedu headquarters.
“The more we unite, we build bridges and we become more supportive. These donations show the generosity of the workers of the ministry”, said the nun, who also highlighted the collaboration of the students, parents and teachers of the school in the elaboration of a register with the data of the most affected residents.
“When the mudslide occurred, we organized ourselves as an educational community to carry out an emotional support program for the children, who were the most affected; In addition, we prepare the environments and have housed many families, even, in one day, we have distributed up to a thousand plates of food ”, she pointed out.
