“From his gaze to yours” is the title of the solidarity bags campaign pursued by a double objective: show day by day of people with illnesses and support the work of patient organizations who watch over and fight for their welfare.

Solidarity bags are plastic 100 % biodegradablemade of materials vegetable, renewable and compostable.

All of them include the excerpt from a text signed by writers, communicators, athletes and professionals. The complete stories are collected in the book “Patient’s view” published in 2022, which can be access through a QR code printed on all bags.

“By translating these words into a object as everyday as bags we want to encourage everyone who has them to take a moment to read and know these stories to empathize with its protagonists”, affirms Enrique Ordieres, Cinfa President.

Carlos Matallanas, protagonist of the solidarity bags

Cinfa has already launched the first run of a million solidarity bags in which you can read an excerpt from the story written by former soccer player Juan Carlos Unzuéaffected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)about the patient Carlos Matallanas, a journalist who died in 2021 from the same disease.

The author of the story titled “Thank you for your smile, Carlos” is inspired by a photograph that reflects one of the physiotherapy sessions that Carlos Matallanas received as an ALS patient. The smile that she always accompanied Carlos and that is reflected in the photograph, gives its name to the image titled “Want to live” and captured by Pablo Garcia Sacristan.

The book “The look of the patient” is a Cinfa’s tribute to patients, depicting through the photographs, their daily life, their emotions, their looks. The images contained in the book have inspired professionals such as basketball player Ricky Rubio or actress Adriana Ugarte, among others, to take charge of writing a story from a intimate and personal point of view.

The next runs of solidarity bags will be signed by the writer Carmen Posadas and the cook Ramón Freixa.

On the website of “Patient’s view” You can consult all the photographs and stories that are reflected in the book and collected in the bags.

The eyes of the patients

“Patient’s view” began its journey in 2017 as a result of a solidarity photography contest proposed by Cinfa.

The purpose of the photographs was catch the eyes of the patients. After receiving thousands of images charged with emotion and reality, the book was born first edited in 2020. The main purpose is move the patient’s gaze collected in the photographs to a greater number of people.

The books served as inspiration in 2022 to create the first edition of the campaign Solidarity bags “From his gaze to his”. The last step is taken by Cinfa now, by launching the second edition of the campaign that she intends to carry out again “Patient’s view” to Spanish pharmacies.
