The Hidalgo writer Ximena Santaolalla, María Muñoz and the Mexican poet Óscar de Pablo joined forces to make the Day of Solidarity with Palestine to support the organization Doctors Without Borders“through fundraising.”
It is, they say, an event “which seeks to strengthen international solidarity and contribute to MSF“All funds raised will go “directly to the population affected by the situation in Gaza,” that is, to injured and sick people, and to “support the medical staff on site.”

The union of efforts made by the Mexican triad will be accompanied, according to them, “of conversations, Palestinian food and a conference“This, with the “sole objective of raising funds to alleviate the suffering of thousands of people.”
The program, to be developed next August 24will be divided as follows. At 1:00 p.m. there will be a discussion around A minor detailby Anadia Shibli, and will be hosted by Oscar de Pablo and Maria Muñoz.
From 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., there will be a Palestinian food day. At the end, there will be another discussion to talk about Palestine in piecesby Chilean writer Lina Meruane; will be hosted by Shadi Rohana, Sergio Tellez Pon and Ximena Santaolalla.

As a prelude to the closing, at 5:30 p.m. a discussion will be held on the disaster Humanitarian in Gaza and the West Bank and the persistent and systemic censorship of Palestinian voices and those who support themwith Christian Nader and Irmgard Emmelhainz. Finally, there will be a social gathering starting at 7:00 p.m.
In addition to Pablo, Santaolalla and Muñoz, more writers, artists, journalists, are involved. Can Can Press (which will be selling art prints donated by artists), Mini Bar (which will donate the proceeds from the event’s food sales) and The lagoon (venue located at Dr. Lucio #181, Col. Doctores) where the event will take place.

“In addition, the project “ will be inaugurated on the Day of Solidarity with PalestineA library for Gaza“By Diego Olavarría and others who are joining us: a call for international solidarity from authors around the world to donate books of their own, in any language, on any subject, for a future library in Gaza,” the organizers conclude.
