Time.news – “We managed to activate an unprecedented mechanism for the reception of eight million Ukrainian refugees. And I hope we will have the opportunity to find solidarity” for the other routes “because there is no magic solution for migrations“.

This was stated by the president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, in her speech on Che tempo che fa on Rai3. “When I was elected to the European Parliament in 2019, the citizens of 26 of the 27 states of the Union saw migration as a concern. We cannot go back to them in 2024 and say that we have not found a solution”, she explained.

The president of the European Parliament confirmed the EU’s position that “all ships at sea have a moral and legal obligation to save livesbut called for participation with states in a “code of conduct to coordinate operations”.
