The Somali government is ready to work with Azerbaijan to achieve the goals of COP29.

As reported on Friday by Day.Az with reference to Trend, this was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ahmed Moallim Figi, during a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.

“My visit coincided with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. I am confident that these relations will contribute to the deepening of our cooperation. Over the years, our ties have been developing in an ascending direction. Today, we discussed the possibilities of expanding trade, cooperation in the oil and gas and agricultural sectors. We are ready to take all steps to expand our ties. I would also like to congratulate Azerbaijan on its presidency of COP29. Our government is ready to work with Azerbaijan to achieve the goals of this conference. The government of Azerbaijan has extensive experience in achieving zero emissions goals,” he emphasized.

In addition, the Minister expressed deep gratitude to the government and people of Azerbaijan for the warm welcome they extended to him.

“Over the years, we have benefited from common views by cooperating on various projects, including education and diplomacy,” he added.
