Mogadishu – The East African country of Somalia has a new head of government: the parliament in Mogadishu unanimously elected 48-year-old Hamza Abdi Barre as prime minister on Saturday. Barre, who was elected at the suggestion of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, took his oath of office immediately after the vote. He announced that he would form a “capable” government and work for “political stability” and a “reconciled” Somalia.
