Hollywood actor Jim Caviezel, who played the remarkable role of Jesus in the 2004 film “The Passion of the Christ” directed by Mel Gibson, reflected on what he considers a mistake on the part of some Christians today.

Chosen to star in a new film called “Sound of Freedom”, where he will play an agent who fights against human trafficking and sexual exploitation, the actor used the plot as an example to demand greater action from Christians in society.

Saying that he considers faith “primary”, Caviezel recalled that “there has to be something that comes from that”, adding that “you love someone; it is an action. It’s not what I say, it’s what I do. The problem is that in much of this modern Christianity people are more afraid of the devil than they are of God.”

more attitude

The actor’s criticism, in fact, is a demand for more attitude from Christians regarding the preaching of the Gospel that can save lives. Rather than being afraid of the bad things in the world, like attacks of persecution, followers of Christ should be bold in their faith.

“God could kill the devil without looking [pra ele]”, said the actor. “And so, when I look at someone who might not want to watch this movie, I say that our love for God’s children must be more than our fear of evil. Our love for Jesus must be more than our fear of the cross because, at some point, that persecution will happen.”

The Hollywood actor, finally, said he was happy to star in another film that will carry a powerful message of fighting evil. His recommendation is for everyone to see. The plot, however, will only be released in July, for the time being in the United States, according to information from the FaithWire.
