Delhi: Former leg-spinner Amit Mishra has stopped former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi for advising Indian batting legend Virat Kohli to retire. Amit Mishra tweeted that some people only retire once, so leave Virat Kohli alone. Mishra attacked Shahid Afridi, who had announced his retirement many times.

Shahid Afridi advised Virat Kohli the other day that he should retire at the peak of form before being dismissed by the team. It looks like Kohli will retire anyway. Afridi also opined that few Asian players have announced their retirement when they are at the peak of their form. But Afridi, who has a history of retiring from the Pakistan jersey many times, advised Kohli on when and how to retire.

Virat Kohli, who faced severe criticism for not being able to score a century for more than a thousand days, has returned to form through the Asia Cup. Kohli, who started answering critics with two half-centuries in the Asia Cup, scored a century against Afghanistan in the last Super Four match. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 122 off 61 balls with 12 fours and six sixes against Afghanistan. This is Kohli’s first century since November 2019. It is also Kohli’s 71st century in his international career and his first T20 century.

In the Asia Cup, Kohli scored 276 runs at an average of 92 and a strike rate of 147.59, becoming the second highest run-getter in the tournament.
