Secretary General (Sekjen) of the PDI Perjuangan, Hasto Kristiyanto, warned that several parties had⁣ reported instances ‌of fraud during ⁣the⁤ recent‍ simultaneous regional elections.

jpnn.com -‍ Hasto stated ⁢this during his speech at the opening of ⁢the 2024 Pilkada Winning Team National Training in Seruni Hotel, Cisarua, Bogor Regency, West Java, on ​Friday (9/8).

He expressed concern that attempts to manipulate the presidential⁣ election process would ⁣likely be replicated in the regional ⁢elections.

“There are parties who say that the presidential election seems to be in the​ same breath as the regional election, then improper practices will ⁣try to be implemented again,” Hasto said on ⁣Friday.

According to Hasto, such practices are just one of ​several vulnerabilities facing⁤ Indonesia.

He ‌also listed geopolitical conditions, food, the national economy, the middle class, and the rule of ⁣law as areas of concern.

Hasto expressed fear that economic uncertainty could lead to social unrest, with people potentially resorting⁣ to violence when their livelihoods are threatened by government abuse.

“The power of those whose lives are oppressed by economic aspects. Then they move because they fight against various forms of abuse of power,”⁤ he said.

Hasto emphasized ⁤that PDIP,‌ with its long history, would uphold unity in Indonesia.
